Some people say that teaching privates is easy money in Korea. From articles like this one, I would assume that test materials and test prep development is the way to go.
Just another example of the testing culture gone crazy.

In my experience, Korean students generally prefer Korean teachers for their test prep "needs" so while this is a lucrative market I think it would be hard for a foreign teacher to enter it.

I agree that Korean teachers are preferred for test prep instruction. I was referring more to materials development (i.e., instructional & software design).
ReplyDeleteThis is a growing market in many countries (the U.S. included) and it is ripe for qualified developers. Whether the school, the teacher, or the student is being judged by high stakes tests, someone is eager to gain an edge and people will try just about anything to do so.
